THE BRITS “WILL BE CURED” IN TURKEY


HEALTH TOURISM AGREEMENT

The British patients who do not like the state of their hospitals in their own country prefer to go abroad for treatment while Turkey tries to increase its share in that sector.

The British nationals who complain about the high cost of healthcare and the lack of hygiene in their own hospitals seek treatment in abroad. On top of the list of the countries preferred by the British are France and Belgium. In Turkey, some hospitals are also trying to attract the British patients. Dr. Ferhat Kayan and Dr. Soner Kayan, the co chairs of Antalya Aspendos Hospital Board of Directors invited Mr. Andrew Clarke who is the head of an UK based organisation that provides advisory services in healthcare.


TREATMENT IN TURKEY IS VERY SAFE

Mr Clarke, who stated that on the grounds of hygiene and equipment, some hospitals in Turkey were more advanced than the British ones, signed an agreement for the referral of the British patients to Turkish hospitals. Clarke who stated that the patients were likely to prefer Turkey for the treatments such as aesthetic surgery, dental care and stomach reduction, said: “If I was the patient I wouldn’t hesitate to go under medical treatment in Turkey”
